Tallmadge Fire "A" Shift was dispatched to a residential house fire on Broadview Road Nov. 10 at 8:34 p.m. According to Tallmadge Fire Chief Mike Passarelli, mutual aid was immediately requested from Mogadore, Brimfield, Munroe Falls and Suffield. The owners were safely outside the home, but three pets remained inside. While crews attacked the fire, Passarelli said a search was conducted for the missing pets. All three were recovered, but two perished as a result of the fire. Passarelli said the fire was successfully under control within 45 minutes of the initial alarm. All fire units were cleared on the scene by 11:30 p.m. and no firefighters were injured during the fire, although one civilian was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the family.
