Tools, electronics removed from vehicles: A Hillcrest Drive man told police Nov. 13 that sometime overnight, someone entered three vehicles parked in his driveway, removing a $50 GPS unit, $400 worth of power equipment and tools, a $150 subwoofer and keys valued at $10.
Akron woman caught stealing soda: Police issued a summons for theft and criminal trespass to a 38-year-old Akron woman Nov. 13 after an employee of a West Avenue business observed the suspect leave the store without paying for six packs of soda valued at $47. Police conducted a traffic stop on the suspect's car. The soda was located in the trunk and returned to the store.
Coins stolen from apartment: A South Avenue man told police Nov. 11 a woman who had been recommended by a friend of his had been helping him for three weeks while he recovered from a car crash. According to the report, at some point, the man asked the woman to bring him a green plastic tub from his bedroom. Moments later, the woman exited the bedroom and left the apartment with her purse, clothes and a bag without saying a word. When the man went to his bedroom, he discovered the tub, which contained about $4,000 in miscellaneous coins, was nearly empty. Police are investigating.
Window broken: A woman cleaning a Strecker Drive business contacted police about a broken window in the building. Damage was estimated at $100.
