THEFT

Streetsboro woman nabbed in stereo theft: Police issued a summons for theft to a 38-year-old Streetsboro woman Jan. 6 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business contacted police to report a shoplifting in progress. According to the report, the woman removed a $96 bluetooth stereo from its box and placed it in her purse and left the store without paying for the items. The suspect was located by police while walking to another store. The stolen item was recovered from her purse.

Akron woman stopped in theft of cosmetics: Police issued a summons for theft to a 26-year-old Akron woman Jan. 5 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business observed her place $12 worth of makeup in her pocket and leave the store without paying.

Akron man caught

taking tequila: Police issued a summons for theft to a 24-year-old Akron man Jan. 4 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business told police the suspect was observed concealing a $60 bottle of 1800 Tequila under a coat in his shopping cart. He left the store without paying for the liquor.

Akron woman caught with meat: Police issued a summons for theft to a 52-year-old Akron woman Dec. 31 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business told police the suspect was observed removing $118 worth of meat from a case, placing it on her person then leaving the store without paying.

Juveniles nabbed in condom theft: Police issued juvenile complaints to two boys after loss prevention at a South Avenue business told police they nabbed the duo stealing two packages of condoms valued at $15. The suspects were turned over to family members.

Smart speaker taken from unlocked vehicle: A Grovewood Drive man told police sometime between 6:30 and 8:15 p.m. Dec. 25, someone removed a $200 Amazon Echo from inside his unlocked vehicle which was parked in front of his residence.

Tallmadge man stopped in theft of butter, sleep gels: Police issued a summons for theft to a 46-year-old Tallmadge man Dec. 23 after the suspect was observed by loss prevention at a South Avenue business concealing butter valued at $3 and sleep gels valued at $17 in his jacket while exiting the store without paying for the items.

Gold ring removed from vehicle: A North Thomas Road woman told police sometime between Dec. 25 and 27, someone entered one of her vehicles which was parked outside her apartment complex, removing a $450 men's gold and silver ring with three diamonds valued at $450. Extra patrols were requested.

Contents of packages stolen: A Pickwick Lane man told police Dec. 22 someone removed packages and mail from his mailbox. According to the report, the homeowner found mail scattered in the street in front of his house and two packages -- one containing a $34 sweater and the other containing a $20 necklace -- were found on the ground torn open with the contents removed.
