Lock broken on shed: A Nutwood Drive man told police Feb. 19 that sometime overnight, someone cut the lock on his shed, which is located in the rear of his property. According to the report, nothing was missing from the shed. The cost to replace the padlock was estimated at $30.
Kent man caught stealing tequila: Police issued a summons for theft to a 20-year-old Kent man Feb. 19 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business observed the suspect select and conceal two bottles of tequila valued at $38 in his pants and leave the store without paying for the liquor. He was released at the scene and told to never return to the store.
Tools taken from work truck: An employee of a Northeast Avenue business told police Feb. 20 that sometime overnight, someone broke the padlock off the rear roll-up door of his work truck, which was parked on the south side of the building, removing a $200 circular saw, a $350 trim nailer, a $500 drill set, $200 worth of miscellaneous tools, a $150 ram set and impact wrenches and accessories valued at $200.
Backpack removed from bleachers after basketball game: An Akron man told police Feb. 16, after attending the Tallmadge/Barberton basketball game at Tallmadge High School, he had accidentally left a $30 backpack in the bleachers which contained copies of he and his son's Social Security cards and he and his son's birth certificates, diapers, miscellaneous baby items and court papers. School officials told him the backpack had not been turned in, according to the report.
