Dinner, Pinewood
Derby set

Kids Club of Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 407 N. Munroe Road, will host its annual Pinewood Derby Feb. 21. The event will follow a 4 p.m. dinner for members and their families.

Events scheduled at the church this week:

* Feb. 14 -- Combined worship service at 10 a.m., followed by Methodist Men's annual Sweetheart Brunch; Kids Club and junior high youth, 4 p.m.

* Feb. 15 -- Quilters, 1 p.m.

* Feb. 16 -- Rebekah Circle, 10:30 a.m.; adult Bible study, 7 p.m.

* Feb. 10 -- Chancel Choir rehearsal, 7 p.m.

* Feb. 17 -- Men's worship and work group, 8 a.m.; Dorcas Circle, 9; Worship Team and adult game night 7 p.m.; Bell Choir, 7:15; Administrative Council, 7:30.

* Feb. 19, 20 -- Thirty-hour famine overnight for the junior and senior high groups.

St. Mark to host fundraiser March 27

St. Mark Lutheran Church will host a "Food, Fellowship and Fundraising" event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27.

Representatives from Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Longaberger, Angel's Bake Sale and the St. Mark Youth Snack Bar will be on hand to sell their wares.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Mark "New roof" fund.

St. Mark is located at 158 North Ave.

Our Lady of Victory to offer grief support group

A Grief Support Group will be offered at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 73 North Ave. Feb. 18 through March 25 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The evenings will provide understanding and support to those who mourn, and will help individuals learn how to take good care of themselves, learn healthy ways of dealing with grief and loss while sharing their journey and courage with others who truly understand.

Attendees are encouraged to take a friend.

First Congregational Church

Women's Fellowship

First Congregational Church of Tallmadge Women's Fellowship will host a Game Time, which will include a euchre tournament, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. A $5 lunch will be provided following the game.

Ash Wednesday service

First Congregational Church will offer a Seder meal and an Ash Wednesday service Feb. 17. The meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a service in the sanctuary at 7. Communion and the disposition of ashes will be offered during the service.

The church is located at 85 Heritage Drive.

Queen of Heaven Church

Ash Wednesday

Ashes will be distributed on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, during the 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Masses at the Church, and at 1 p.m. at Greenview Inn, 4000 Massillon Road.

Weekday Lenten Mass schedule

The weekday Mass schedule during Lent, will be as follows: 8:30 to 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday and additionally from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Lenten dinners

During Lent, dinners will be served Fridays, Feb. 19 through March 26 in the Queen of Heaven Parish Life Center. Carryout or dining-room service will be available from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Dinners, including coffee/tea and sides, will be: fried or baked cod -- $8, fried shrimp -- $9, cod/shrimp combo -- $10, pierogies or macaroni and cheese -- $6 and children's dinner -- $4. Other beverages and desserts will also be available.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross devotions will be scheduled Wednesdays during Lent from 9:05 to 9:35 a.m. and Fridays from 7:05 to 7:40 p.m. On Good Friday, Stations of the Cross will take place from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
