Tallmadge -- On March 9, a West Avenue woman told police sometime between 10 p.m. and 3:45 a.m., someone entered her apartment through an unlocked door, trashed her living space and removed a $1,000 flat screen TV, a diamond bracelet and two pairs of diamond earrings with a total value of $300, $300 cash and a $250 DVD/TV player.
Theft
March 8. Mogadore woman issued summons: Police issued a summons for theft to a 23-year-old Mogadore woman after the security officer at a South Avenue business told police she saw her conceal makeup valued at $36 and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The security officer confronted the suspect and retrieved the items before police arrived.
March 7. Money orders missing: A Southeast Avenue man told police sometime between 10 a.m. and noon, someone removed two National City Bank money orders, valued at $1,000, from his apartment. According to the report, the complainant said he would check with the bank to see if the money orders had been cashed before putting a stop/hold on them.
March 5. Massillon woman charged: Police arrested a 49-year-old Massillon woman and charged her with theft after the security officer at a South Avenue business told police she saw her place clothing and jewelry valued at $59 in her purse. The suspect left the store without paying for the items and was arrested and transported to the Summit County Jail.
March 4. Snow blower stolen: A Whittlessey Drive man told police sometime between 8 a.m. March 2 and 10 a.m. March 4, someone removed a $1,300 snow blower from the back porch of his residence. According to the report, the machine was covered and pushed under a canopy. Police said a neighbor reported seeing a white panel van in the victim's driveway either Tuesday or Wednesday.
