I am 75 years old on a fixed income. I have no earned income. I voted for the school levy that would have put the cost in income taxes - it would have cost me nothing. I will vote for the new levy that will now cost me money - WHY? - I know some folks will vote no on anything that says "taxes" - it is one thing you can san no to. But how many things do you know that you can say "YES" to that really make a difference in the lives of young people - add to the value of your home and keep the community that you live in a place people want to move to and live in? Our neighboring town of Springfield is an example of what happens. I hope folks will give the levy a look and not just automatically say no. For a change say YES to something that really makes a difference in this crazy world - after all almost everyone is on a fixed income - how many working folks got a raise last year that beat the cost of living? - Not many and saying the folks who have kids in lschool should pay everything is like saying us seniors on medicare should pay the total cost of our own medical expenses. I know some seniors are really hurting and I hope that the new levy will find a way to give the really needy some relief.

I wonder why it is that retirees think they are the only people on a fixed income. I don't know many people who aren't on a fixed income. Anyone working on a salary is on a fixed income. Most hourly employees are limited in the hours they work and so they are also on a fixed income. The days of the great union jobs where overtime was readily available are gone. We need to accept and respect that we are all on a fixed income and tax increases affect us all.

I will vote NO. Retirees and Layoffees can not afford to pay more real estate taxes to support the schools. We were promised school tax relief and we got none. Until the Tallmadge teachers, administrators, and staff take an actual pay cut and pay more for their healthcare benefits and co-pays like the rest of the private sector, I will continue to vote NO NO NO on all school levies. It's not about the kids, it's about maintaining their lavish lifestyles while the rest of us go into foreclosure and bankruptcy. NO to the May levy !!!!

I want a guarantee that Mr. Ferguson would not bring back any cuts already made for at least 3 school yrs. Save some money, get ahead a little before going right back to the old ways. Are people layed off today going to have a job by next week? Is the value of our home increasing tomorrow? Are gasoline prices going to be $2.00/gal. in June? Will milk, bread & eggs cost the same in Sept. that they do today? I don't think so! Think, Save & Plan ahead for the future by voting NO.

You must be senile. Us retirees can't afford to pay more. Maybe you have a million dollar IRA? I don't and on my fixed income cannot pay anymore property taxes. Another $30 - $50 a month in re taxes means I don't eat or buy my medicines.Voting No and hope the other retirees on fixed income and layoffees vote NO too.
