The Tallmadge girls bowling team's season came to an end after finishing 12th with a score of 2,965 pins at a Division I district tournament Feb. 25 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton.
The top five teams qualified for the state tournament. Stow-Munroe Falls won the 17-team tournament with a score of 3,589. Also advancing were Massillon Perry (3,403), Warren G. Harding (3,390), Akron Springfield (3,317) and Olmsted Falls (3,296).
Junior Emily Kiss led the way with a 22nd-place score of 504 (195, 168 and 141).
Also competing for the Lady Blue Devils were freshman Kirsten Moore (36th, 182, 150 and 150), senior Tawney Beans (38th, 183, 182 and 123) and juniors Hallie Turney (78th, 144, 116 and 110) and Kristina Beckwith (92nd, 101 and 154).
Freshman Parker Braccio missed advancing to the state boys tournament by three pins. He bowled a 564 series (178. 184 and 202) to finish 13.
